Nissan Juke: Say hello to yellow again!

| Category: General

Nissan has undertaken significant enhancements to the Juke's interior as part of its mid-lifecycle refresh. These modifications include a revamped centre console and instrument panel, aimed at enhancing the overall ambience of the onboard experience.

Moreover, the interior boasts upgraded materials, trim, and improved fit and finish. The car's connectivity features have also been revamped, incorporating a larger touchscreen and additional functionalities.

As part of the mid-life upgrade, Nissan introduces a new trim level called N-Sport, which accentuates the Juke's dynamic attributes through exterior and interior detailing.

Additionally, Nissan is reintroducing a yellow exterior colour option for its Juke urban crossover, reminiscent of its popularity on the first-generation model. The new yellow hue, though slightly lighter than the original, offers a modern and impactful aesthetic.

In the N-Sport trim, the visual impact is heightened by the contrast of the yellow with the black roof, wheels, door mirrors, wheel arch inserts, grille, and A- and B-pillars. This combination elevates the Juke's visual appeal, adding a touch of flair and attitude.

Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director of Nissan GB, said: “The latest generation Juke was launched in 2019 and continual improvements, including a new hybrid powertrain, have ensured it remains popular with UK customers in a fiercely competitive sector.

“2023 was the current generation Juke’s best-selling year and these latest updates retain its distinctive style while enhancing connectivity, quality, interior design and safety to ensure it stays ahead of the competition.”

Interior Transformation: Redefining Comfort and Connectivity

Central to the refresh is the interior overhaul, where Nissan's designers and engineers meticulously refine every detail to create an atmosphere of unparalleled comfort and sophistication. The redesigned centre console and instrument panel stand as testaments to Nissan's commitment to elevating the onboard experience. Moreover, the introduction of new materials, trim options, and upgraded fit and finish exemplifies Nissan's unwavering dedication to quality and refinement.

But the enhancements don't stop there. The Juke's connectivity receives a significant boost with the integration of a larger touchscreen and an array of additional features, catering to the demands of modern-day drivers who seek seamless integration of technology into their driving experience.

Introducing the N-Sport Grade: Elevating Dynamics and Style

Joining the esteemed line-up is the all-new N-Sport grade, designed to accentuate the Juke's dynamic qualities both inside and out. With meticulous attention to detail, the N-Sport grade sets a new standard for visual impact, boasting refined exterior elements and exquisite interior detailing that exudes sophistication and flair.

The Return of the Iconic Yellow Exterior

In a nod to its heritage, Nissan reintroduces the iconic yellow exterior colour option, paying homage to the Juke's legacy while infusing it with a modern twist. Paired with the N-Sport trim, this vibrant hue, juxtaposed with sleek black accents, adds a touch of personality and individuality to the Juke's exterior profile, ensuring that it stands out in any crowd.

Advanced Interior Convenience Features

Beyond aesthetics, the Juke's interior updates prioritise convenience and functionality. From the enhanced infotainment system to the introduction of wireless charging capabilities and multiple USB charging points, every aspect of the interior is meticulously designed to enhance the driver and passenger experience, ensuring that every journey is as enjoyable as it is effortless.

Advanced Safety Features: Prioritising Driver Confidence

The updated Juke now includes Intelligent Driver Alertness as standard, with Lane Keep Assist offered as an option and standard on the Tekna grade and above.

Intelligent Driver Alertness constantly monitors the Juke's position within its lane, particularly on highways. If the vehicle approaches the lane boundary too closely, indicated by the white lines, the system triggers a vibration in the steering wheel to alert the driver. If no corrective action is taken, the system intervenes to realign the vehicle within the lane, ensuring it stays on course.

Additionally, leveraging the high-definition central screen, the resolution of the rear-view camera has been significantly enhanced from 0.3 to 1.3 megapixels. This upgrade enhances visibility during reversing manoeuvres, especially in low-light conditions, providing drivers with a clearer and more detailed image.

The rear-view camera is now a standard feature across all Juke grades. Furthermore, the Around-View Monitor, which offers a comprehensive "bird's-eye view" of the vehicle's surroundings by combining feeds from four cameras, is available from the N-Connecta grade onwards and comes standard from the Tekna grade.

Unchanged Powertrain Options

The Nissan Juke offers two powertrain options to suit diverse preferences.

The Juke Hybrid, now available from the Acenta Premium spec, combines a specially designed internal combustion engine for hybrid use with an electric motor, delivering 69kW (94hp) and 148Nm of torque. With the primary electric motor providing 36kW (49hp) and 205Nm of torque, supported by a 15kW high voltage starter/generator and a 1.2kWh liquid-cooled battery, this hybrid option offers 25% more power (143ps vs 114ps) than the current petrol engine, alongside significant fuel consumption reductions.

Alternatively, the non-electrified option boasts a compact and lightweight 1.0-liter three-cylinder DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine, providing 114PS and 180Nm of torque (200Nm with over torque function). Drivers can choose between a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch (DCT) paddle-shift transmission, along with a driving mode selector for Eco, Standard, and Sport modes, ensuring an enjoyable driving experience tailored to individual preferences.

“The updated Nissan Juke builds on its well-established strengths. Its stunning design is loved by our customers – and its attraction can only be increased by the return of the yellow paint option.

“With the new materials inside, as well as the enhanced connectivity, comfort and convenience, Juke’s position as the pioneer and icon of the city crossover segment is stronger than ever,” said Arnaud Charpentier.

Continued Production Excellence

The refreshed Juke has commenced production at the Nissan Sunderland Plant, where over 1.3 million units have been manufactured since its inception in 2010. Positioned on the plant's second production line alongside the Qashqai, this marks a significant milestone for the facility.

Adam Pennick, Vice President of Manufacturing at Nissan's Sunderland Plant said: “It’s a proud moment for our team to see the latest Juke going down the line – and it’s particularly exciting to see flashes of the famous yellow in production for the first time in six years.

“I know our world-class manufacturing and engineering teams are looking forward to delivering the car to the high-quality levels that our customers love and expect.”

Ranked as the fourth most manufactured model at the Sunderland Plant, following the Qashqai, Micra, and Primera, the Juke's production contributes to the plant's impressive milestone of reaching eleven million vehicles manufactured since its establishment in 1986.
