Nissan X-Trail Mountain Rescue: Bringing e-4ORCE to the slopes

| Category: General

Nissan is set to revolutionize winter safety on European ski slopes with the introduction of the modified X-Trail e-4ORCE, aptly named the X-Trail Mountain Rescue. This electrified crossover, equipped with the cutting-edge twin-motor e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system, has undergone significant enhancements to tackle the challenges of winter rescues and support a campaign promoting responsible slope riding.

Trailblazing Modifications for Winter Rescues

The X-Trail Mountain Rescue has undergone extensive modifications to meet the demanding needs of mountain rescue operations. Traditional wheels have been replaced with snow tracks, providing exceptional traction on slippery slopes. The rear seats have been strategically removed to make room for a stretcher, facilitating the swift transportation of injured skiers to the nearest medical facility. An additional seat for a medical professional ensures on-site medical assistance.

Externally, the vehicle sports a bespoke roof rack designed to carry evacuation stretchers and snow shovels. A formidable combination of a siren, flashing light bar, and powerful rooftop and hood lights enhances visibility in challenging conditions. Wider fenders and a reinforced front bumper, complete with a winch, showcase the vehicle's rugged capabilities. The X-Trail Mountain Rescue also features a towing hook at the front and rear bumpers and side footboards to ease access, particularly as the vehicle rides 23cm higher on its tracks than the standard road version.

Unveiling the e-4ORCE All-Wheel Drive System

At the heart of the X-Trail Mountain Rescue's prowess lies the electrified twin-motor e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system. This innovative technology distinguishes itself by reacting to changing levels of grip in an astonishing 1/10,000th of a second, providing traction adjustments approximately 1000 times quicker than traditional systems. The system can distribute power to individual wheels based on available grip, ensuring a smooth and secure ride for occupants oblivious to the rapid and efficient workings of the e-4ORCE system.

"Ride Responsibly" Campaign Takes Center Stage

The X-Trail Mountain Rescue is participating in the "Ride Responsibly" campaign across five European ski resorts. As part of this initiative, Nissan aims to foster polite slope etiquette by strategically placing digital signs. These signs encourage snow riders to decrease their speed at intersections of different slopes, thereby mitigating the risk of collisions. Functioning similarly to road-side speed indicators, these signs monitor the approaching riders' speed and display a "Thank You" message for those adhering to considerate speeds or a "Slow Down" alert for those deemed to be traveling at excessive speeds.

The X-Trail Family Experience

While the spotlight shines on the X-Trail Mountain Rescue, it's essential to recognize the X-Trail's origins as a family-focused seven-seater electrified crossover. Equipped with e-POWER technology and the twin-motor e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system, the X-Trail delivers a smooth and seamless electric vehicle driving experience. Whether configured with five or seven seats, it presents a practical and secure choice for family outings or memorable adventures with friends.

Having established itself as one of Nissan's globally acclaimed vehicles, the X-Trail has been a steadfast companion for family escapades for over 20 years. The fourth generation inherits a well-established DNA, seamlessly integrating innovation and reliability that runs through all three of the previous generations of X-Trail.
