Dear Mr Griffin, We met briefly in the cafe at Upper Boat when I was waiting to collect my new Kia Sportage. You told me to write if I had any problems, well I am writing with the opposite. I recently purchased a used Kia Picanto for my daughter. I'm so impressed with the service I received I had to write and tell you. The salesman Martin Jones was so courteous, from our first meeting nothing was too much trouble. He answered all my concerns and took any worries I had and came back with the answers I needed. He made us feel so special, after sorting out registration of my daughters private plate etc, it was time to collect the car we bought. 
When we arrived we saw her car all sparkling waiting for her to collect. We met Stuart Hooper who sorted out all the paperwork and we were escorted to her car. My previous letter to Griffin Mill Garages Ltd was rather acerbic with a pinch of humor to soften the criticisms it contained. What a revelation yesterday! Wow! I'd bought my Kia Rio in for a warranty service check and pre-arranged a courtesy car. A pleasant young man dealt with all the paperwork, all of which had been assembled in advance; checking my driving licence and insurance details and handed me the key of the diminutive Peugeot 107. All in ten minutes flat. What a feisty little motor. Very easy to drive, comfortable and nippy and without any extraneous gizmos or gadgets to worry about. I drove my next door neighbor to Nant Ddu for lunch, which she paid for. (Was it the aftershave or am I a centenarian Lothario?) It was then time to return to Upper Boat to collect my Kia Rio. It had been thoroughly checked and tested and any loose bits torqued up. The lady who was dealing with the paperwork disappeared only to return a few minutes later with a bottle of Glen Moray. Many thanks for that. I shall indulge in an occasional small libation. I don't think the bottle will outlast the Kia Rio though. All in all, a good experience of a well run and caring organisation. I shall be looking for a new and slightly larger vehicle later in the year so that my geriatric Jack Russell can join his geriatric owner in some luxury. Naturally we shall head straight to Griffin Mill Garages Ltd. My grateful thanks to you and please would you be so kind as to post this epistle where all the staff involved can read it. I am also loving the new improvements to the car with CarPlay, the new rear reverse camera is brilliant and the overall driving experience is much improved.

I am writing to ask you to thank your service receptionists on my behalf for their help in sorting out a recent problem with my car which was 13 days out of Manufacturer's Warranty. I had called the ŠKODA Customer Care number myself to ask could they help with resolving the problem (a rattle in the tailgate and nearside passenger front door) which had developed, the vehicle is one owner has full service history with Griffin Mill and covered only 18,000 miles. ŠKODA were less than helpful, which surprised me, given the publicity they promote.

So I decided to call your garage in the hope I could get some help. I know some of your front desk service team from my visits for service and recently an MOT, and explained the problem, Roger asked if I could bring the car in that afternoon and if the rattles could be fixed quickly then there would be no charge and carried out under your goodwill programme. I brought the ŠKODA Fabia in, and one of your technicians looked at the trouble, took the car away and returned a short time later with the rattles fixed. Absolutely brilliant. Other members of your service team also very worthy of a mention are Theresa and Kai. 

I would like them to know how helpful they are. Other dealerships could learn a lot from your policy. I will recommend Griffin Mill to friends and family. Thank you. Finally as we plan to keep the ŠKODA Fabia for another year or longer given the low mileage can I purchase an extended warranty with you, I would be interested in finding out which that might cost and the level of cover provided if available.

I am very pleased with this car, which has covered 1,600 miles in three weeks. However, the main purpose of this email is to inform you that I have already conveyed to business acquaintances and friends, my satisfaction with the deal that I received for my part-ex, and also the very fair and professional manner in which salesman Matthew Kuck (and other members of your team) dealt with me.

It was quite apparent that Matthew wanted to sell me a car. I would like to take this opportunity to give praise where praise is fully due in respect of my first ever new car purchase with Griffin Mill.

I have just received my ŠKODA Octavia and have been dealing with Mr Lee Hanney from day one, he was working within the ŠKODA department when I first met him and he has now moved to Nissan but has followed my order progress through to the end.

From the first point of contact Lee has been friendly, professional, clear and precise in his guidance through the purchase of my car. I have been keep up to date, and I have asked lots and lots of questions concerning the car, warranty, servicing etc. and Lee has been on top of the situation and kept me informed and answered all my questions put to him.

The service I have received has been impeccable. My old car insurance ran out March 1st and we were given a courtesy car from yourselves until ours arrived. More than we expected. In reflection it is not just Lee but Barry who has also had an input into our situation as I assume being Lee's manager he is responsible for the decisions and agreed the price with Lee I paid for the car also made the decision that we could have a courtesy car on loan. So a thank you is due to the both Lee and Barry. I could have purchased the exact same car from another supplier for £ 400 cheaper but the reason I did not, was down to the commitment from Lee and also your company being the local Skoda main dealer to me. I am a member of a Skoda Forum website with lots of members on various topics and you will find a link below on Griffin Mill Garage.

For the record I am Skodaman0164 and you can see the posts I have made and other customers concerning Griffin Mill's service past and present. I will continue to endorse your company with positive feedback over the next few years regarding the service I receive from your company whether the feedback is positive or negative in respect of my cars maintenance and the service I receive, but I have no doubt in my mind that it will be all positive from my current experience of Griffin Mill. Another possible thing to keep us customers informed on the status of the car, again on the forum was that another Skoda dealer is offering a service for tracking your car directly with the SLI number.

I was given my SLI number by Barry and Lee but it did not work for us. As I later read on the forum that only authorised customers from that Skoda retailer would work. I think if your company could provide this service for your customers it would take pressure off your sales team as us the customer love to know, day by day hour by hour where our car is. Just a though from me being a customer. Finally I am a self-employed sole trader responsible for the maintenance of commercial and domestic properties and deal with lots of people on a daily basis. I provide them with my services in maintaining the buildings and fully appreciate Lee' s hard work he has done for me personally, as I treat all my customers as Lee has treated me in a friendly but professional manner.

I hope you don't mind me contacting you but feel I had to relay my personal feedback on the treatment that I have received from your company.

May I again heap praise on this man who came to our aide when our car developed a fault.

Within an hour of contacting John, he had arranged for our car to be seen this afternoon, met by Nadine who gave us assurance that the fault would be dealt with. We were surprised that the car was washed as well, again many thanks to you and a marvellous team.


I would like to thank you very much for the excellent service I received while purchasing my car yesterday. I normally hate buying a new car and find it all exhausting. However, I called on Wednesday evening just to inquire about a 2/3 yr old fiat 500. I thought I would have to wait as I drive an automatic and they are not easy to come by. To my luck there was one there, was taken on a test drive where the sales person Nicholas didn’t give me any hard sell, he just informed me, answered all my questions and was very relaxed and professional – which Is a refreshing change, I have been given the sales pitch before when I looked at some other cars at the garage and it put me off. This was all sorted for me pain free by the financial advisor, and I am now looking out of my office at my lovely new car. I will be coming back in the future years to purchase my next car. Please would you thank the sales staff (including the lovely reception/administrator) and pass this onto management.

Thanks for your reply and assurance of your support in the future should anything not go to plan, but to date with the service I have received you will hopefully only receive positive feedback on the service I receive from Griffin Mill.

Another example of good customer service from both Barry and Lee last Sunday: I picked my car up on Saturday and went for a ride in my new car. I planned to go out on Sunday morning for another long ride and found after leaving Aldi by your top garages coming down the hill I could hear a clicking noise from the car. I stopped at the bottom of the hill and found a screw in the front tyre 85 miles on the clock.

We called into your garage as I did not have a screwdriver to remove the screw. Barry got me one and then I went to remove it but it had gone right through. As a back-up Barry gave me one of those cans of tyre inflators should I need to use it as the service engineers were not there. Another good customer service I have received.

It's not what car you buy, it's the service you get from sales to aftersales, the staff are so friendly. I've bought (last count) 20+ cars from Griffin Mill. As long as they are here, so will I.

I wish to comment on the outstanding customer service I received from your staff of your Nissan branch Basecamp, especially Lee Hanney.

I am writing to express my deep appreciation for the attention and concern shown by him for my purchase of a Nissan Qashqai, as my previous vehicle blew up and caught fire a couple of weeks prior on the way to work. Lee agreed that I could test drive a couple of vehicles, as I wanted to get a feel of them, as I travel 400 miles a week working for the MOD in Brecon. As my vehicle was written off and was without one a few days before Christmas, Matthew Harris kindly agreed to lend me a Micra so that I could complete and finalise my shopping. This was beyond my expectations and I feel it was largely due to the personal attention placed by Lee, Matthew and others within your company, ultimately persuaded me to buy the vehicle from you.

As a Contracts Manger for the MOD dealing with Military Officers and Senior Civil servants on a daily basis, I am responsible to ensure that a very high excellence of customer service is provided by my contractors to them which I have seldom witnessed in the private sector, but Nissan has proved me wrong.

Thanks again for the wonderful service. I will be more likely to purchase a vehicle and would recommend Griffin Mill to friends and family in the future. I wish to thank Mike Johnson for his kind gesture of good will on a mistake that was made with the mileage of my vehicle. I will enjoy my Nissan Qashqai Ntec for years to come and hopefully upgrade again with Griffin Mill in the future.
