Welcome to the Pride

Peugeot is undoubtedly the king of our pride of car brands, being the first franchise brand here at Griffin Mill, It has been with us for the largest part of our history even to this day! Peugeot’s origins date back to the early 1800s, with its first automotive vehicle debuting at the 1889 Paris World Fair, was a tricycle powered by a steam engine! In 1948, they produced their first unibody car, the 203, the first of many successful models—around half a million were made.

They Are So… Alluring

Peugeot has always been known for producing fantastic-looking cars, often in unique colours that stand out from other brands. Their longest-produced car, the sporty 504, saw around 3.7 million units sold between 1969 and 2006 which had the iconic pop that Peugeot have continued to incorporate into their designs to this day.

Peugeot’s iconic designs  and performance have also caught the eye of senior European government officials taking a liking to the Peugeot 604. This bold and stylish sedan featured one of the first commercialized turbo diesel engines, making it both powerful and impressive to drive.

Small Cars, BIG Impact

Peugeot was the first brand to introduce small four-door saloon-style cars, with the iconic tagline:
"All of Peugeot in 3.58 meters"

This innovation paved the way for compact cars, similar in size to their latest small model, the Peugeot 108, which measures just 3.4m in length. Peugeot has also made its mark in motorsport, producing the legendary 205—a double World Rally Champion. The Peugeot 205 not only became the best-selling car in France of all time, but also the most-exported French car ever, securing its place in automotive history.

They are technically the First Major Manufacturer to Produce an EV

Peugeot was ahead of its time in electric vehicle innovation. During World War II, fuel rationing led manufacturers to seek alternative power sources. In response, Peugeot developed the Véhicule Léger de Ville (VLV), a fully electric car. Peugeot was the only major brand to produce a vehicle powered solely by electricity at this time. The VLV had a reported range of up to 80km (50 miles) and a top speed of 36km/h (22mph) this one definitely isn’t built for long road trips, but perfect in cities for professions like doctors, that required a vehicle to get around.

Electrifying

Peugeot is now driving toward a greener future, expanding its EV range while maintaining the iconic designs of its “Lions." Their latest EVs offer ranges of up to 435 miles on a single charge and up to 230bhp, proving that electric cars can be just as powerful and exciting. This marks a huge leap forward from their first EV, the VLV, and makes the future of Peugeot all the more exciting. Their latest models continue to embody Peugeot’s DNA with style, innovation, and performance, staying true to the "Allure" name of their trims, which even at a lower spec still look premium.
