Nissan Qashqai Named 'Used Car of the Year' by Car Dealer Magazine

The Nissan Qashqai has been crowned ‘Used Car of the Year’ at the 2024 Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards, marking a triumphant conclusion to an exceptional year for the UK-designed, engineered, and manufactured crossover.

This year, Nissan significantly enhanced the third-generation Qashqai with updated interior and exterior styling, advanced safety features, and a state-of-the-art infotainment system featuring Google built-in. These updates have drawn widespread praise from leading UK motoring journalists and reviewers.

Shortly after its launch, the Qashqai’s groundbreaking e-POWER electrified powertrain was named ‘Best in Class’ at the News UK Motor Awards. It also gained significant attention for a marketing campaign that was hailed as the ‘world’s best’ by industry experts in September.

At the Used Car Awards ceremony, hosted by television personality Mike Brewer, the Qashqai was celebrated as “one of the most popular cars in recent years.” Brewer also acknowledged the model’s influential legacy, highlighting how the original Qashqai redefined the family car market over 15 years ago, creating the now-iconic crossover segment. “It’s credited with creating a whole type of car that proudly sits on driveways across the country,” he said, describing the Qashqai as “a fantastic all-rounder – practical, great value for money, nice to drive, and it just gets the job done.”

The Qashqai not only claimed the top honour as ‘Used Car of the Year’ but also won ‘Used Mid-Sized Car of the Year,’ outperforming strong contenders from rival manufacturers.
