Environmental Policy

At Griffin Mill we are committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner. We take action to continually minimise the environmental impact of our activities and prevent, as far as practicable, the occurrence of any pollution incidents.

 

We work closely with environmental partners to implement the Green Dragon Environmental Standard and have developed procedures to ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities to operate using environmentally acceptable work practices.

 

Griffin Mill conducts the following activities to maintain high environmental standards:

 

  • Compliance with all relevant environmental legislation
  • Staff training to ensure awareness and understanding of basic environmental issues
  • Staff feedback sessions to encourage improvement of current environmental standards
  • Collaborating with partners to improve the energy efficiency of the site
  • Responsible storage of chemicals on the site to reduce any potential for pollution
  • Research into the feasibility of rainwater harvesting to reduce mains water consumption on site
  • Recycling elements of waste materials to reduce waste disposal in landfills.
